Autism Spectrum Disorder
Programs that offer any of a variety of therapeutic interventions, which may be used singly or in combination, to address the range of social, language, sensory and behavioral difficulties experienced by children and adults with autism and related disorders. Because of the spectrum nature of autism and the many behavior combinations that can occur, treatment approaches must be tailored to meet the individual needs of each person.

Balance and Vestibular Therapy
Programs that conduct an evaluation of individuals who have balance problems that include observation of posture, balance, movement, and compensatory strategies; and develop an individualized treatment plan that includes specific head, body, and eye exercise. Treatment may also include an increase in activities and exercise in order to strengthen muscles and increase the individual’s tolerance for symptom-provoking stimuli. Although most commonly offered by physical therapists, balance and vestibular therapy (VRT) can also be provided by physicians, occupational therapists or audiologists.
