Substance Use Disorders Detoxification

Rappahannock Area Community Services Board's (RACSB) Sunshine Lady House for Mental Health Wellness and Recovery, staff can provide medication and support that insure safe withdrawal from alcohol, opioids and benzodiazepines. The program offers an integrated approach to wellness, combining detox services with counseling, support and education.

Individuals must meet the criteria for crisis stabilization in order to receive detox services. Individuals with medical problems that could pose a significant risk to health or safety are not eligible for this program including pregnant heroin users. These individuals will be referred to an appropriate treatment facility. Detoxification is tailored to the individual's specific needs.

Once the initial symptoms of withdrawal pass, individuals participate in group and individual counseling and develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan. Treatment options include groups focusing on co-occurring treatment strategies, anger management, medication education, self esteem, community needs, therapeutic arts, nutrition and healthy relationships.
