Who We Are
National Cancer Institute (NCI) is one of the National Institutes of Health institutes. NCI leads a national effort to reduce the burden of cancer morbidity and mortality. NCI conducts and supports programs to understand the causes of cancer; prevent, detect, diagnose, treat, and control cancer; and disseminate information to the practitioner, patient, and public.
The Institute provides Cancer Information about Types of Cancer, Treatment, Prevention, Genetics, and Causes, Coping with Cancer, Screening and Testing, Cancer Library, Cancer Terminology Resources, Cancer Health Disparities, and PDQ). They also sponsor clinical trials and provide statistics.
