The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly the Food Stamp Program, is a government program that provides low-income families with funds on an Electronic Debit Transfer (EBT) card. These funds can be used to purchase healthy foods at participating grocery stores, department stores, as well as an increased number of farmers' markets.
Find out if you are eligible for SNAP benefits by visiting one of the outreach locations or by making an appointment with the SNAP Outreach Coordinator. Individuals and families may qualify for SNAP, even if they:
- Own a home,
- Are working full or part-time,
- Have a car,
- Are living with others.
Eligibility is based on household size, monthly gross income level and income expenses. SNAP income guidelines are available on the website. An online contact form to reach the SNAP Outreach coordinator is available on the same website. SNAP applications may be completed online at the CommonHelp website.
