Who We Are

The Partnership for People with Disabilities supports people with disabilities and their families to be active members of their communities throughout the Commonwealth. The Partnership, part of Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Education, is Virginia's only federally designated university center for excellence in developmental disabilities. Among our most important partners in creating communities where all people live, work, and play together with choices and independence, are numerous disability service providers, school systems, universities, professional organizations, and state and local agencies. The Partnership focuses on three primary areas of emphasis: Early Childhood and Education, Health, and Family and Individual Involvement and Support.
