Who We Are

Blue Ridge Care Connection for Children (BRCCC) is a program sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health which is an advocate for Children with Special Health Care needs.  The Care Connection for Children Program is part of a statewide system that helps families coordinate community and educational resources with medical expertise to insure that Children with Special Health Care Needs can reach their maximum potential.

The care coordinators offer and provide information and referrals for medical visits, accessing medical services, counseling, health care payment options, school issues, social supports and community resources.  Staff offers advice, education and support to all families regardless of income requirements.

The BRCCC can also offer financial assistance and support with some pre-approved medical bills, equipment and medications.

The BRCCC is a collaboration between the Virginia Department of Health and the University of Virginia Children's Hospital.  The BRCCC is directly affiliated with the UVA Children's Hospital.
