Who We Are
Virginia Poison Center offers twenty-four-hour advice and information over the phone to residents and serves as a resource for physicians and other health care professionals.
The free telephone service can provide expert help in cases of suspected poisoning from medicines, household products, venomous bites or stings, or exposure to other chemicals by ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact.
Call the Poison Hotline at 1-800-222-1222 for emergency telephone resources of poisoning information and advice over the phone. The trained registered nurse will make an assessment of severity, advise first aid action and recommend an appropriate disposition.
