Who We Are

Rappahannock Area Regional Adult Education offers educational services for adults, from basic literacy through General Educational Development (GED) and high school completion, including English for non-native speakers.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes are offered to foreign-born, non - English speaking adults.  Class is focused on improving English skills for jobs, continuing education and citizenship preparation. The four components in classroom are speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Pre-GED and GED classes are designed for adults, 18 and older, to improve math and reading skills.  Many adults have the goal of the GED exam. GED preparation classes help adult students prepare for the high school equivalency exam.

The Pathways program involves specializes classes for higher level English Language learners who need workplace skills or academic instruction in order to pursue their GED credential.

Occasionally there is a waiting period for ESOL class. Most sites are wheelchair accessible and some sites are accessible by public transportation.
