Who We Are
The Library of Virginia maintains collections of books, periodicals, government publications, newspapers, architectural drawings and plans, manuscripts, archival records, maps, rare books, prints and photographs, and fine art to document the history, culture, and people of the Commonwealth and are available on paper and microfilm, as well as digitally.
Other areas of interest are materials about Richmond and Virginia, a la cart cafe, The Collections, Annual Library of Virginia Awards Celebration: Honoring Virginia Authors and Friends; Advisory Boards and Committees, Online Catalogs, Exhibitions, The Library of Virginia Foundation, The Library Shop and Public Meeting Rooms at the Library of Virginia are available. It also includes the State Records Center and provides Virginia Author's Room.
Services for the public include archives research services, library reference services, electronic discussion groups, exhibitions, library cards and circulation, and Library of Virginia publications.
