Who We Are

Historic Crab Orchard Museum is the region's most comprehensive historical museum dedicated to life on the Appalachia frontier 150 years ago. Pioneer Park features 15 historic log and stone buildings furnished to recreate the 1830's.  There are collections, exhibits, and interpretive objects and customs about the history of Tazewell County and Southwest Virginia.  The Museum has the largest regional antique woven coverlets demonstrating the lengths the women went to provide color in their simple log cabins.

Check the Museum's schedule of events for crafts workshops and historical programs of special interest to senior citizens, and also opportunities to volunteer.
