Organ and Body Donation

Virginia State Anatomical Program receives donated bodies for medical science. This program is a gift of education to doctors, nurses, and other health professionals studying in Virginia's medical schools, colleges, and universities who must learn how the human body is constructed before treating living patients. Donation is also a gift of discovery and knowledge to many researchers studying new ways to prevent illness, treat diseases, and develop innovative surgical techniques.
