Who We Are
Starting in late September 2024, every American household will be eligible to order tests through COVIDtests.gov. Right now, the U.S. government is making COVID-19 tests available to uninsured individuals and underserved communities through existing outreach programs. Please contact a HRSA-funded health center or ICATT location near you to learn how to access low- or no cost COVID-19 tests provided by the federal government.
The tests available for order:
- Are rapid antigen at-home tests, not PCR.
- Can be taken at home or other locations. Give results within 30 minutes (no lab drop-off required).
- Can be used for testing even if you do not have COVID-19 symptoms.
- Can be used for testing whether you are up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines or not.
- Are also referred to as self-tests or over the counter (OTC) tests.
People with blindness or low vision can order tests that have been assessed by the National Institutes of Health as more accessible for individuals with vision loss. The Administration for Community Living explains how to order free tests for people with blindness or low vision.
Reporting your result — whether negative or positive — helps our nation learn how to use those test results effectively. Report your test results to public health agencies at MakeMyTestCount.org.
