R.A. Quarshie Healthcare, LLC is a Virginia DBHDS licensed Developmental Disabilities Supportive In-Home Services Agency for children, adolescents, and adults serving region 2. They assist individuals with developmental disabilities to find happiness in their own homes and as contributing members of their community.
The mission of R.A. Quarshie Healthcare, LLC is to provide a safe, supportive, and structural environment for people with developmental disabilities to exercise their rights to make choices, grow and contribute to their community.
Their primary goal at R.A. Quarshie Healthcare, LLC is to live the mission statement and continue to perform as an industry leader. The desire, is an organizational and individual success, as they are committed to acheiving success by providing quality of service to their clients.
The Developmental Disability (DD) Waiver Supportive In-Home Services provides hands-on care, habilitative support, and assistance with activities of daily living including:
- training and support in activities of daily living and independent living skills
- training and support to enhance community integration by utilizing community resources
- training and support to enhance management of financial and personal affairs and awareness of health and safety precaution
- training on, and support in the monitoring of health, nutrition, and physical condition
- training and support to coordinate or manage tasks outlined in the Health Management Care Plan
- support in performing personal care, household, and homemaking tasks that are specific to the needs of the client
- support with developing the skills necessary to reduce or eliminate behavioral episodes
- support by implementing a Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) or positive strategies
- support with the acquisition of new skills or maintenance of existing skills based on individualized preferences and goals
- coordinating transportation to participate in community events consistent with this service

2. Under the determination of developmental disability, individuals 3 years and older must have a psychological, school or medical record completed by a credentialed professional (i.e. medical doctor, OT/PT, etc) that clearly identifies a severe, chronic disability of an individual that is attributable to a mental or physical impairment or a combination of both, other than a sole diagnosis of mental illness. The diagnosis must have manifested before the age of 22 and is likely to continue indefinitely.
3. The individual has met the functional eligibility, Medicaid eligibility and financial eligibility by the local dept. of social services and DD intake coordinator.
4. Individuals must be free from communicable diseases.
5. An individual's service needs can be managed by R.A. Quarshie Healthcare, LLC.
6. The individuals must have significant functional limitations in adaptive living skills in three or more of the following areas of major life activity to include: communication, self-care, social skills, mobility, self-direction, health and safety, functional academics, and leisure and work.
7. Only individuals eligible for DD waiver funding and funds are eligible.
