Camp for Youth with Burns

Central Virginia Burn Camp is a residential camp for young burn survivors between the ages of 7 and 17.  The one week camp is designed to meet the social, physical and psychological needs of young burn survivors.  It allows the survivors to be free from the stares and questions and allows firefighters who have a firsthand understanding of fire and its devastating effects to share experiences.



The camp is free and staffed by occupational therapists, nurses, adult burn survivors, firefighters and other volunteers.



Activities include team building ropes challenge course, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, camp dancing and more.
