Who We Are
The Summer program at Wintergreen Adaptive Sports teaches canoeing and kayaking to people with all types of disabilities. Children and adults with paraplegia, autism, blindness, amputations, stroke, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, and more have enjoyed the adventure and relaxation of paddling on lakes and rivers.
Canoes and kayaks that are one-person (solo) or two-person (tandem). Typically at least one instructor and one assistant work with each student to adapt the boat first and then teach paddle strokes. All students must attend a lake day prior to going downriver.
