Who We Are
The premier program for the Mid-Atlantic Burn Camp (MABC) is the Summer Camp that is held for child and adolescent burn survivors from the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond to assist them to injury by providing an annual therapeutic residential summer camp and other year-round activities that support their physical, psychological and social needs. The camp includes activities such as swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, hiking and sports, as well as more adventurous activities for the older campers (rock climbing, caving, river canoeing). The activities promote teamwork and self-confidence. Experienced staff of adult burn survivors, burn therapists and nurses provide supervision and care.
A winter camp is held each February in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania at a ski resort where campers receive skiing lessons and participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Please call for more information.
Activities and outings are planned throughout the year for young burn victims and their families, including family picnics, holiday parties, sporting events and more.
MABC offers a scholarship program for young burn survivors who have participated in the summer camp program and who wish to attend college or vocational training. Those wanting to apply must contact MABC in writing and request an application.
