Who We Are
At the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, services and training are offered in communication skills, independent living skills, orientation and travel skills, social and recreational development, counseling, medical information and self-management, vocational evaluation and assistive technology at the student dormitory in Richmond. The dormitory includes fourteen suites; six independent living apartments that include cooking and living areas; laundry facilities; recreation area; on-site health education department; and residential staff.
Generally, goals are to enable blind/visually impaired person to function as independently as possible as productive members of society, in a safe and efficient manner.
