Who We Are
Regional Literacy Coordinating Committees, or regional interagency groups, meet on a regular basis to discuss how to improve adult education and literacy services in the region through collaboration among businesses, local programs, and other agencies.
Instructional programs are provided throughout the Commonwealth for adult basic education and adult secondary programs. Please call or visit the website for more information.
Distributes funds and provides leadership and services relative to adult education programs in Virginia, including, Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language, Community-Based Literacy Organizations, GED testing services, Adult Secondary Education, English Literacy and Civics Education, and Individualized Student Alternative Education Plan.
The mission of the Office of Adult Education and Literacy is to provide leadership and support for adult education and literacy services, with a priority on the development and expansion of quality family literacy and workforce education programs.
