Who We Are
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. The ACS strives to provide support and treatment for cancer patients and their families by helping them learn about making treatment decisions, coping with side effects, handling financial matters, caregiving, and living well after cancer. The ACS also has programs and services to help manage cancer treatment and recovery and finding emotional support.
