Who We Are

Vital Records at the Virginia Department of Health provides certified copies of marriage certificates, death certificates, applications for birth certificates, and declarations of paternity, as well as divorce certificates.



Documents needed to obtain a birth certificate: At least 3 of the following: Photo ID, Unexpired foreign passport with a visa; unexpired U.S. passport, Unexpired Temporary Resident Card, Unexpired Driver's License for a state in the U.S.; paternity papers from the hospital, proof of address, letter of verification of birth from a hospital; typed letter from a hospital, birth certificate of one of the parents.
