Who We Are

Ability Center of Virginia, formerly Cerebral Palsy of Virginia, provides information and referrals to services and programs appropriate to individuals who contact the agency with needs and/or questions about cerebral palsy. Referral calls provide information in the area of Accessible Housing, Education and Individualized Education Plans, Medicaid Coverage, Parent to Parent Support, Recreation Activities, Respite Care, Transportation and more. Follow-up service supports the actual receipt of the services to which individuals were referred.

Ability Center of Virginia (Ability Center) is a non-profit organization serving children and adults with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities.

Ability Center operates a summer computer camp with eight one-week sessions. The Center also operates a strengthening and exercise program for adolescents and adults. Held five times a year, the eight-week program run by a licensed physical therapist provides instruction in the use of hydraulic exercise equipment.

Ability Center sponsors a Teen Advocacy Committee comprising teenagers with and without disabilities. The group meets monthly to discuss advocacy issues and holds social events.
