Who We Are

The Old Dominion Appalachian Trail Club (ODATC) is a trail maintenance club and a member of the Appalachian Trail. The mission is the construction and maintenance of foot trails for hikers, including that portion of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail between Reed's Gap and Rockfish Gap. The focus is on hiking in Virginia but includes biking, paddling, and touring as well.

The club provides excursions on this trail or in other areas and conducts educational activities related to the need for preserving areas suitable for outdoor recreation.

Club meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of September, November, January, March, and May.  Meetings include a presentation from an expert on some aspect of trail development or maintenance, hiking, backpacking, or other activity of general interest to the membership.
