Who We Are

Guiding Eyes for Blind Special Needs Program provides a 26-day training program for blind persons with additional disabilities, such as hearing loss, cerebral palsy, orthopedic problems, muscular dystrophy, balance problems. Deaf-Blind who communicate by American Sign Language.  Training is at the Yorktown Heights, NY campus.  Each student is carefully evaluated and then assigned a Guiding Eyes dog with a compatible temperament and energy level.  Training with the instructor is conducted on a one-on-one basis.  Guide dogs are given an additional two-months training to enable them to support students with the specific needs they have. Transports clients to and from airports and train stations.
