Promotes Braille literacy among blind children and adults. Assists, advises, and accompanies parents of children with visual handicaps through the public schools' Individual Education Plan (IEP) process.



Advocates for limited caseloads for teachers of students with visual disabilities and to require the teaching of Braille in public schools with blind students. Administers the Braille Competency Test to prospective teachers of Braille. Provides individual tutoring in Braille and courses in Braille for adults.
